Isn’t it interesting that when Congressman Joe Williams, in a fit of enthusiasm, commits a faux pas unprecedented in the history of the Congress, shouts out “liar” while listening to the President lie about his program, that a renowned columnist from the New York Times, Maureen Dowd, characterises his shame as “racist.”
Disregarding that the congressman tendered his apology that was accepted by the President, the “racist” theme continues to be railed on by enraged Democrats.
I don’t know about you, but I am getting sick and tried of the Dems “demonizing” everybody and everything that they view as a threat to their territory.
It is true that Joe Williams is a southern Republican and to many that label conjures the old slave south. One of today’s Democratic demonizers was Congressman Hank Johnson, an African American. He said (essentially), ” the racist remarks of the Congressman, conjures visions of faces covered with white sheets.”
Enough! doesn’t this black man know that it was the Republicans that freed the slaves of the old south? Doesn’t he know that it was the Democrats, both North and South, that promoted slavery throughout the entire United States? Doesn’t he know that the white sheeted Ku Klux Klan was the post-bellum para-military terrorist arm of the Democratic Party? Doesn’t he know that the man third in line to the Presidency, Democrat Robert Byrd, was a Klanner? I wonder if he can name one Republican member of the Klan? The Klan lynched about 7500 people in 100 years — approximately 6000 were blacks, can he guess how many of the 1500 whites were Republicans?
If you are going to demonize sir, please get your facts together. And why, I ask, do you venerate the party that persecuted your ancestors.
