Historians tell us that, on July 1, 1776, John Adams wrote a letter to his wife, Abigail.\u00a0 As a member of the Committee of Five selected to draft the Declaration of Independence, he was intimately aware of the power and significance of the document and was anticipating that he would sign the document on July 2.\u00a0 In his letter, he said:<\/p>\n
\u201c<\/em>The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. \u00a0I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. \u00a0It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. \u00a0It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Although Adams missed the actual signing date by two days, he knew exactly the significance of what he was about to do.\u00a0 Now, just eighteen months from the day when we will inaugurate a Republican successor to Barack Obama, we can safely predict that, in the hearts and minds of American patriots, January 20, 2013 will be celebrated in perpetuity as the second national day of deliverance<\/em>, just as Adams predicted the significance of July 4, 1776?<\/p>\n The question is, will Obama last that long?\u00a0 Will he finally be called upon to tell us who he really is?\u00a0 And if he can\u2019t, or won\u2019t, will one or more of the states bar him from the ballot in November 2012?\u00a0 At the very least, the time has finally come to speak the I-word\u2026 impeachment.<\/p>\n In a March 13 piece titled \u201cSayings of Chairman Maobama,\u201d Michael Goodwin writes, \u201cFirst I did a double take. \u00a0He said what<\/em>? \u00a0I read it again and the shock waves followed.\u201d\u00a0 According to a New York Times<\/em> report quoting anonymous Obama aides, \u201cA beleaguered President Obama has told aides it would be so much easier to be the president of China.\u201d<\/p>\n Is there a doubt in anyone\u2019s mind that, when Obama stands before the mirror in the Oval Office, he sees not a president, an administrator, he sees a dictator?\u00a0 Given Obama\u2019s refusal to take the lead on critical national and international issues, Goodwin sees two ways to read the remark by his aides: \u201cOne is that Obama resents the burden of global leadership that comes with the American presidency. \u00a0The other is that he longs for an authoritarian system, where he need tolerate no dissent. \u00a0Under either or both interpretations, his confession carries a dose of self-pity that means Obama has hit a wall.\u00a0 He is in over his head, and he knows it.\u201d<\/p>\n No matter what the issue\u2026 the national debt; riots in Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and Yemen; the mass murder of Libyan dissidents by Qaddafi; the war in Afghanistan; illegal immigration; rising gasoline prices; unemployment; an uncooperative \u00a0Republican Congress; and a host of others\u2026 it appears as though the most important thing on Obama\u2019s mind is how he could have missed an eighteen inch putt on the eighteenth hole at Congressional, where he and Michelle will take the girls for their next vacation, or how he\u2019s going to get reelected in 2012.<\/p>\n As Goodwin sees it, \u201cHis responses range from halfhearted to wrongheaded,\u201d but Goodwin is far too generous.\u00a0 It is more accurate to say that Obama is not even voting \u201cpresent\u201d on all these issues.\u00a0 He is, in fact, absent from the scene\u2026 nowhere to be found.\u00a0 Instead of leading, he has abdicated his role.<\/p>\n So what do we do about a man who has done nothing but damage on every front since the day he took office?\u00a0 Upon assuming the office on January 20, 2009, Obama swore an oath as follows: \u201cI do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend \u00a0the Constitution of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n A number of questions arise.\u00a0 What did Obama mean when he said \u201csolemnly swear?\u201d\u00a0 Swear an oath before whom?\u00a0 What did he mean by \u201cfaithfully execute?\u201d\u00a0 Faithful to whom\u2026 George Soros?\u00a0 And what did he mean by the words, \u201cto the best of my ability?\u201d\u00a0 Has anyone stopped to consider the frightening thought that, yes, Obama has performed to the best of his ability?<\/p>\n In the thirty months he has occupied the Oval Office he has shown little ability to do what is necessary or proper.\u00a0 When he spoke the words, \u201cpreserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States,\u201d he had one hand on the Holy Bible.\u00a0 Was his other hand behind his back with his fingers crossed?<\/p>\n In a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed, Peggy Noonan speculates on the feelings of liberals who supported Obama in 2008.\u00a0 She says, \u201cSo he is losing a battle in which he had superior forces \u2013 the presidency, the U.S. senate. \u00a0In the process he revealed that his foes have given him too much mystique. \u00a0He is not a devil, an alien, a socialist. \u00a0He is a loser. \u00a0And this is America, where nobody loves a loser.<\/p>\n Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution stipulates that \u201cThe President, Vice President, and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on impeachment for, and conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.\u201d<\/p>\n There is no doubt that Obama must be removed from office.\u00a0 From the day he took the Oath of Office, almost every official act has been harmful to the country, either in the short term or in the long term.\u00a0 He appears no more able to exercise the office he occupies than the average fourth-grader.\u00a0 He has no apparent knowledge of how the capitalist system operates; he has no concept of how private sector jobs are created.\u00a0 In his demented world, it is government that creates jobs.<\/p>\n In a July 22, 2010 article in the Washington Times, a newspaper published, distributed, and read in a city surrounding the White House, writer Jeffrey T. Kuhner tells us that \u201c(Obama) is slowly \u2013 piece by piece \u2013 erecting a socialist dictatorship.\u00a0 We are not there \u2013 yet.\u00a0 But he is putting America on that dangerous path.\u00a0 He is undermining our constitutional system of checks and balances; subverting democratic procedures and the rule of law; presiding over a corrupt, gangster regime; and assaulting the very pillars of traditional capitalism.<\/p>\n In what has to be the unkindest cut of all against Richard Nixon, Kuhner tells us that \u201cLike Venezuela\u2019s leftist strongman, Hugo Chavez, Mr. Obama is bent on imposing a revolution from above \u2013 one that is polarizing America along racial, political, and ideological lines.\u00a0 Mr. Obama is the most divisive president since Richard Nixon.\u00a0 His policies are Balkanizing the country\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n He goes on to say, \u201cHe has abused his office and violated his oath to uphold the Constitution.\u00a0 His health care overhaul was rammed through Congress.\u00a0 It was \u2013 and remains \u2013 opposed by a majority of the people.\u00a0 It could only be passed through bribery and political intimidation\u2026.<\/p>\n \u201cTo provide the shock troops for his socialist takeover, Mr. Obama calls for \u2018comprehensive immigration reform\u2019 \u2013 granting amnesty to 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens.\u00a0 This would forge a permanent Democratic electoral majority.\u00a0 It would sound the death knell for our national sovereignty\u2026<\/p>\n \u201cRather than defending our homeland, Mr. Obama\u2019s Justice Department has sued Arizona for its immigration law.\u00a0 He is siding with criminals against his fellow Americans.\u00a0 His actions desecrate his constitutional oath to protect U.S. citizens from enemies foreign and domestic.\u00a0 He is thus encouraging more illegal immigration as Washington refuses to protect our borders.\u00a0 Mr. Obama\u2019s decision on this case is treasonous\u2026<\/p>\n The grounds for Obama\u2019s impeachment are numerous, not the least of which is the Justice Department\u2019s program to supply the murderous Mexican drug cartels with thousands of deadly weapons\u2026 weapons that have been used to murder hundreds of Mexican citizens and at least one U.S. border patrol officer.\u00a0 Past presidents have been accused of serious wrongdoing, but unlike Obama, none have been complicit in mass murder.<\/p>\n Jeffery Kuhner writes, \u201cCorruption in the administration is rampant.\u00a0 Washington no longer has a government; rather, it has a gangster regime.\u00a0 The Chicago way has become the Washington way\u2026 He is the most consequential president in our lifetime, transforming America into something our Founding Fathers would find not only unrecognizable, but repugnant.\u201d<\/p>\n Ms. Noonan, is only partially correct.\u00a0 Yes, Obama is a loser, but he is also a devil, an alien, and a socialist and it\u2019s time to impeach him and remove him from office.\u00a0 The question is, do we have people on the House Judiciary Committee with the courage to do what must be done?\u00a0 Do we have people with the courage to impeach a black president, or are they telling us that black Americans live under a totally different set of rules than non-blacks?.<\/p>\n At the very least, it\u2019s time to let Obama know that, in spite of what he might think, he is not exempt from the rule of law.\u00a0 It is time to speak the I-word.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Historians tell us that, on July 1, 1776, John Adams wrote a letter to his wife, Abigail.\u00a0 As a member of the Committee of Five selected to draft the Declaration of Independence, he was intimately aware of the power and … Continue reading
